GCFLearnFree.org has added an exciting new game and two new word categories to the Reading Program!

The Art category contains words such as draw, paint, and beauty, and the Sports category contains terms that are used in popular sporting events and games.

Blast Off! is our exciting new mini game, where learners have to find the missing word in a sentence by flying around the screen.

Recently, WRAL news invited Mark Bryant and Matt Robinson to speak about the new Reading Program at GCFLearnFree.org. In a segment called “On the Record,” Mark and Matt were interviewed by David Crabtree when he spoke about the illiteracy problem in North Carolina. There are currently over 1 million people in North Carolina who cannot read or write proficiently.

The eLearning Africa Conference is the largest educational technology event held on the African continent and is designed to provide best practices, innovative techniques and the latest methodology in eLearning. GCFLearnFree.org will be participating in this year’s conference in the best practices showcase.

Our new Reading Program is growing every month. In May, we are adding a new word category and a new word activity for learner’s to explore. The new category, Direction, includes words that are used to give people directions. The new activity is called Sound Match and helps learners to match the sound of a word with the correct spelling.
