How to write the excise or test and do you provide certificate at the end?
After successful completion of our Online classes, you will receive a certificate of completion. http://www.gcflearnfree.org/classes
I have tried to register over 10 times for several different computer training classes in the last 3 weeks. Every time the Registration count-down clock gets to the Registration Time, it simultaneously Closes the Registration and “Prompts” to try back again in 1 hour and 59 minutes. What gives!i
Robert, As we just launched the 2010 classes and have been promoting them heavily, many of our classes are full. If it counts down to Registration time and then closes registration, it means there weren’t any slots available. When slots do come available, they fill up quickly. We only have 4 instructors, so we’re obviously limited on how many students we can take at a time. All I can say is keep trying and that the 2pm EST slot usually is your best bet/the most slots (if available at all) tend to be open. I hope you get in soon and good luck! ^Jess

Is it possible to receive a certificate of completion for self paced topics? I have my customers use GCF to build their skills, but our programs aren’t able to allow our customers to sign up for classes so they have to do the self paced courses. It would be really nice for them to be able to print a certicate of completion to show employers they have this experience.
Randi,
Our online classes offer certificate of completion because they are IACET accredited and allow for measurable assessment of skills learned. Within learners’ accounts, there are tracking tools that display what lessons have been completed but it is important to us that any certificate of completion we award is from an accredited program and that the learner was able to demonstrate application of the skills taught within the lessons.
As a military librarian and librarian at a post-secondary vo-tech school, I am going to recommend your website to everyone. The material in your “Career” section will be especailly helpful to students during the job search process. Great job!
