Just in Time— New Lessons on Facebook Updates

Noticed any changes to your Facebook Profile recently? This week, Facebook finally began a worldwide roll-out of new features, including the Facebook Timeline. The Timeline replaces the old Facebook Wall. The main difference between the two is that the Timeline allows you to easily view and post stories from your past.  It’s a pretty big change, and it might take you a little while to get used to.

Fortunately, we’re here to help you out. We just added a handful of new lessons on the Timeline and other new features to our Facebook tutorial. You can learn about:

  • Posting old and new events to the Facebook Timeline in our lesson on the New Sharing Features
  • Customizing your Profile’s appearance and updating your personal information in our lesson on the New Profile
  • Using new News Feed options to customize the updates you see from your Friends in our new News Feed lesson

If you’re not sure how these changes affect your privacy, you might also want to check out this blog post about controlling who can see the personal information on your new Profile.

As always, we’d love to hear your thoughts. What do you think about Facebook’s new look? If you’ve checked out the tutorials, is there anything you still don’t understand about Timeline? Leave a comment and let us know!

PS. Don’t have the new Profile yet? You can get it by going to Facebook’s About the Timeline page and clicking the “Get Timeline” link at the bottom.

  1. Thank you for the work you all do! This is very timely!

  2. I deleted my FB account because it was so much work to keep up with all the changes and how they effected my privacy settings and groups privacy settings I had made. I got frustrated and just finally deleted it. Now, I’ll read your information and may reinstate the account.

    • This is awesome to hear! Dealing with Facebook changes can be INCREDIBLY frustrating, which is a pity— it can be such a fun and useful site. I hope our lessons help you out— good luck and let us know if you have any questions.
