Meet the Staff: Micah
Micah is our other videographer and besides working on the word videos with Julianna, he has also helped in the production of some of our newest “stand-up” videos, like Skype and Publisher 2010. He has also created some of our promotional videos, like this one that was shown on Time Warner:
What led you to working at GCFLearnFree.org?
“I was working in the film industry for a while – there were some good people on the production side, but too many shady people on the business side. I wanted to work in a place where everyone had respect for each other’s time and effort. The crew at GCF is very talented and everyone values integrity. On top of that, we get to create resources that can help people.”
What project are you most proud of while working here?
“I enjoyed working on the GCFLearnFree promos and commercials, as well as the Skype videos. They’re a chance to capitalize on my film production background and engage in GCFLearnfree’s story.”
What is your favorite thing about working at GCFLearnFree.org?
“I like our mission, but I think the people here are what I like the best. Having worked on a number of productions, I know the value of a good team. Everyone here brings effort and talent to the table, and there’s no slack to pick up.”
How would your co-workers describe you?
“Probably as the oddball of the group, even though there’s a few of us here. I have some interesting hobbies on the weekends, mostly involving narrative film. I catch myself saying things that might sound odd to the normal passerby. Today someone asked what I was doing after work and I said ‘I gotta finda cheap tan trench coat at a thrift shop and spray paint it purple.’ It happens to be for a costume.”
If you were given a chance to travel to the past, where would you go and specifically why?
“I guess the 90′s to invest a lot of stock in Google, Facebook, and Nintendo.”
Stay tuned for a few more interviews, including one from our fearless leader!
