New Internet 101 Tutorial
This week GCFLearnFree.org launched the first of our new Internet Basics tutorials. Internet 101 is an introductory course that will guide you through the basics of the internet, while providing up-to-date information on the latest online tools and technologies. It’s perfect for those who are new to the internet, in addition to being a good resource for those who simply want to be updated about what’s new online.
The tutorial includes:
- Learning what the internet is and how to identify online tools and technologies like blogs, wikis, feeds, etc.
- Comprehending how the internet is used, especially for social networking and connecting with media.
- Identifying how to connect to the internet and what services will best suit your needs, including wireless and mobile access.
- Learning how to use a web browser to navigate the web, including understanding downloading, bookmarks and plug ins.
- Identifying popular search engines and showing you how to conduct effective searches.
We are in the process of updating our current Internet courses. In the next few months, we will launch new tutorials on Internet Explorer 8, Mozilla FireFox, Email Basics, Twitter and Internet Safety.
For now, you can check out the New Internet 101 Course and let us know what you think.
