Teachers & Job Seekers: Free Computer Classes

Do you need CEU’s to renew a teaching license or to further your career? GCFLearnFree.org offers classes on Microsoft applications such as Access 07, Excel 03 and 07, PowerPoint 03 and 07, and Word 03 and 07. All of the classes are FREE and can be taken online. Each class has a pre and post-test, lessons, quizzes, and assignments. The assignments are submitted to an online instructor, who grades and returns your assignment with feedback. You can take the class in about three days or you can work at a more leisurely pace, finishing in about four weeks.
All of our online classes are accredited by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). Each of the classes awards at least 1 CEU (Continuing Education Unit) upon successful completion of the assignments and survey. The NC Department of Public Instruction will accept all of our CEU’s for teacher licensure renewal in ANY subject.
Job seekers can benefit from our classes too! The classes are a great resource for resume building. Become proficient in Excel or Access so that you can add these programs to the computer skills portion of your resume. Many employers want to see that potential employees are proficient in basic Microsoft programs. Use our classes to gain the confidence you need to use these programs on the job or at home.

kidconto – please keep in mind that our classes are extremely popular, and the available spaces fill up as soon as we open registration – some times in a matter of seconds. We are going to be adding more instructors over the next months, so that should help.
Our best advice is to be on the site right at the time it says to check – a few seconds late and the spaces will be filled.
Please check out our self paced version of Word 2007 while you try to get into the class.

I also waited for the specific time slot(s) to sign up for a computer class and never able to get in because they fill up very quickly. It’s nice that GCF are planning to add more instructors. Hopefully, this will work and able to register for a class quickly.
the same here i tried to register too.. but all the time it shows the red message saying that all slots are currently full.. never saw the green message saying “u can register now” in the past few weeks..has the same happnend to anyone here.. let me know.
I am a retired from the military and they just drop these type of classes from the learning web site. This is an awesome site not only for me but for the stay at home moms that need this type of training for their potential career. Thank You
I’m in Alaska and I’ve tried to register around the clock for two days straight. Do you have any tips on the best time to get on? Also, once I am certified, I would love to volunteer as an instructor. Donating my time would be a way for me to give back to this very worthwhile program.
I cannot get back in for classes what’s happing can you help me get back in class. I am right there when classes open up. There get to be a better way then this.
