Bringing You The Best Learning Material On The Web
Have you heard the juicy news? I’m not one to gossip but the word around the office is that several new and exciting projects are scheduled to launch this year. They’re going to be unlike anything you’ve seen us do before. So here’s the scoop.
Work & Career We know times are hard right now and many people are out of work and searching for employment so we’re here to help! Our redesigned Work & Career course is perfect for today’s job seekers. With topics like Selling Yourself in a Cover Letter, Acing the Interview, and Being Your Best at Work, we’re just getting warmed up. We’ve turned the heat up on this course by featuring videos of career experts answering some of your most pertinent questions. The goal of this course is to assist you in your search and keep you motivated with a new, interactive, curriculum.
Facebook 101 With its growing popularity amongst individuals, businesses, schools, organizations, and even the President, we decided it’s time for a Facebook course. This course is designed to help the novice and advanced user navigate and use Facebook. There are so many things you can do on the popular social networking site so we decided to focus on a few features. You’ll learn how to set up your profile, set privacy options, start a group, find friends, and much more. I can’t give it all away but I heard it was going to be pretty exciting!
Telling Time EDL Lesson Tick tock, tick tock! Well I guess it’s time to tell you about the new EDL lesson that focuses on teaching you how to tell time. What if there aren’t numbers on the clock? What is the second hand? How do I know when it’s quarter-til? Check out this lesson to answer these questions and learn everything you ever needed to know about telling time. I’m a huge fan of the EDL lessons so I can’t wait for the new launch.
Literacy Program The goal of the Literacy Program is to ensure that adult learners are equipped to handle the literacy demands of their social, professional, and civil lives. Not only are we creating interactive lessons that let you determine your own level of understanding, we are also creating a safe space where students will be able to explore language without the fear of failure or criticism. I overheard something about a 3-D navigation wall, a jazz cellar, and a rain forest. Now that sounds like it’s going to be worth the wait!
I’m eager to see the above projects come to life and I hope you are too. Spread the word and tell everyone you know that CGFLearnFree.org has the best learning materials on the web!

These new projects sound terrific! The literacy program sounds very useful and I can see a huge audience for that. Keep the (dare I say) “gossip” coming!
There is always a silver lining in every cloud. Even though my office job of nearly 10 years was eliminated in 2008, I am very excited about the challenges and opportunities offered through GCF learnfree. I feel these new courses will give me an edge and provide me with the necessary skills to meet the demands in 21st Century work environments. Yes, I can do this! When one door shuts, God always opens another door. We just have to be brave enough to walk through it! Thank you GCF, your courses are a true blessing to me!
Lorna, I like your positive spirit! You can do this and do it FREE! I truly believe in the idea of one door closing and another one opening! The excitement comes when you walk through that door and see the reward on the other side. We’re glad we can be here to help.
I took some of your courses in 2004 and ended up getting a great job because of them. I thank you. Now in 2009 I have been layed off so again I have come back to look into some others. I truly thank you for these free courses because there isn’t any extra right now! I do wonder if you will ever offer a course in Quickbooks or know anywhere that does.

You will need to have the correct version of the software to take the online classes. All assignments will require the correct version of the software — so if you wanted to take the Word 2003 class, you will need to have Word 2003 on your computer. For the self-paced tutorials, we recommend you have the correct version of the software so that you can download our practice files and follow along as the lessons show you how to complete certain tasks.
Microsoft’s website offers free trial downloads of most of their software, so you may not have to purchase a package.
Good luck!
