I’m sure by now you’ve at least heard of Twitter but you still may not know what it is. I heard about Twitter a while back but it really didn’t interest me that much. Then I started to use it more and I must say, it’s growing on me! Twitter is another part of the social media family. The keyword here is social. It’s another way to socialize and connect with people online.  So what exactly is Twitter? Simple…it’s a place to dump those little thoughts in your head in 140 characters or less. It’s kinda like instant messaging or text messaging;  consider it a mini blog!  It’s very useful if you want to continuously update people on what you’re doing. You can choose who you want to follow, see who’s following you, and even block people you don’t want to follow you.

So what do you Twitter about? Good question! Many people on Twitter find their niche. For example, if you are into cooking search for cooking on Twitter to follow and be followed by others who have something to say about cooking or Twitter about your upcoming wedding and see how many brides follow your every word! Twitter can be one way or two way communication. Just because you Twitter doesn’t mean someone will respond so try to Twitter about something that creates a buzz!

You don’t have to go to the website to Twitter. As I said before, Twittering is kinda like text messaging or instant messaging . There are plenty of Twitter applications out there that let you send Twitter feeds from your cell phone or your computer’s desktop without ever opening up a browser and going to the website.
